Born 1953 in Meiringen, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Medical studies in Bern; Federal Exam in 1981; doctoral thesis in 1984. Two years of medical assistance at the Institute of Anatomy at the University of Bern in the department of developmental biology. Until 1989 specialist training in general medicine. During this period taking part in mountain rescue missions. Since late '80s methodic training in Neural Therapy, and in 1989, opening of his own medical practice. Since 1994, teaching activities in Neural Therapy in various countries.

Since November, 2002, Chairholder for Neural Therapy at the University of Bern.

Main activity: Medical practice for Neural Therapy/pain therapy in Berne.

Further activity: part-time stint at SportsClinic#1 Bern

Main research field is the autonomic nervous system (pain and inflammation) as well as the influence of local anesthetics on it.

Vice president of the International Medical Association of Neural Therapy. Vice president of the Swiss Medical Association of Neural Therapy.

Since 2015, member of the Scientific and Ethics Commission of the International Federation of Medical Associations of Neural Therapy (IFMANT).

Honorary president of the Turkish Association of Neural Therapy. Honorary Member of the Neural Therapy associations of Ecuador, Mexico and Columbia.

Editorial board member of several medical journals.

Author of various scientific publications. Author of the Neural Therapy textbook "Fischer L. Neuraltherapie – Neurophysiologie, Injektionstechnik und Therapievorschläge. 4th, completely revised edition, Stuttgart; MSV: 2014". The book has been translated to four languages. Co-publisher of "Fischer L., Peuker E. (Eds.) Lehrbuch integrative Schmerztherapie. Stuttgart; Haug: 2011". Several contributions to textbooks about pain.

Main author of "Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of Neural Therapy" (2005), and of a comprehensive application (2010), both concerning effectiveness, appropriateness and cost-effectiveness of Neural Therapy and submitted to the Swiss Federal Health Department, resulting in Neural Therapy becoming mandatorily covered by basic health care insurance.

2013, Otto Bergsmann Price (Vienna, Austria) for research in Neural Therapy. 2018, BNR-NAZLIKUL award (Istanbul).
